Clarification on eBooks

A couple of people have said that they downloaded the eBook and "it didn't work." It turns out that they were trying to use the eBook with an app or program other than the one it was designed for:
  • Kindle eBook: Must be read with the Kindle app, a free download for any computer, smartphone or tablet (click here).
  • Kobo eBook: Must be read with the Kobo app, another free download usable on most devices (click here).
  • iTunes eBook: Must be read with the iBook app on an iPad, iPhone, iPod or Mac computer only (app comes with the device).
The reasoning behind this is called "Digital Rights Management" (DRM), which means these companies reserve the right to know where their products are being used, so you have to use their app. When the app is free, and the book only $2.99, it seems a reasonable request. Let me know if I can help.
